Sales Team Leader
Location:
Chester, UK
Salary:
£45,000-£60,000 basic plus commission
The Company:
A UK-based, FCA-regulated, Hybrid Lender that provides capital to support SMEs and mid-sized businesses through flexible lending products. With a team of 150 specialists, the company manages a loan portfolio exceeding £500 million and has originated £1.5 billion in assets since 2018. They offer loans and asset finance to SMEs via both direct and broker channels, with an average transaction size of around £50,000.
The Role:
The Direct Sales Team Leader will be tasked on increasing new business, identifying external opportunities, and maximising cross-selling within the company. It consists of three teams: Lead Generation, Deal Closing, and Renewals.
The purpose of the Direct Team Leader is to assist the Head of Sales in managing the teams on the sales floor, primarily by improving productivity, identifying training needs, and helping to maximise opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor the attendance, punctuality, and conduct of the team.
• Oversee call monitoring to ensure that call time and volume KPIs are met.
• Manage the sales pipeline and forecast performance.
• Identify and maximise new opportunities for all new starters.
• Provide weekly reports on team and individual performance to the Head of Sales.
• Maintain personal and company targets, focusing on volume and sales yield.
• Contribute positively to the dynamics of the sales floor, especially when under pressure.
• Handle credit decisions and tiering queries appropriately, escalating to the Head of Sales when necessary.
• Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process for potential new team members.
• Identify training and coaching needs and communicate them to the Head of Sales for arrangement.
• Ensure continued compliance within the team and department.
• Conduct call listening reviews as needed.
• Lead by example, providing clear direction and guidance to the team.
• Address any other reasonable requests from your line manager.
Experience Required:
• Experience working in an FCA regulated environment.
• Minimum of 3 years managing a sales team.
• Strong understanding of financial products and services.
• Proven ability to motivate and lead a sales team.
• Skilled in building and maintaining client relationships.
• Experience tracking and analysing sales performance metrics.
